I read something recently which really resonated with me and the upshot is, don't cringe about what you create and own the art. It got me pumped to put my ebooks back up for download onto this site as a thanks for dropping by. So you'll find the free downloads available again. Here's to my diminished cringing...
This is the first album called 1959 of Ebony Run, a former band that my bro played bass for. Over the years I managed to track down 3 files and posted them on my personal Soundcloud but now the lead Singer Richard has posted the full album, so here it is! A blast from the past but literally one of the most brilliant albums I've heard. Take a listen and also if you are on Facebook click the icon and drop by and give them a like :)
Fuck yes! SKU 19 (formerly Centrifuge) just put out their new first album with the record company Trouble Town Records. Please go take a listen and support these awesome musicians. This album smokes :)
I have to admit when I first started publishing my writing and putting it online I was pretty tense about it. Partly because I don't always say stuff that regular folks discuss and partly because I knew that people would start to read it lol That said, I'm still tense here and there but at least now I know that my integrity is in to write whatever I want to write without too much concern over it. Usually when my stomach is in knots, I've likely said something I probably should have haha...
Other writers dream of the "big break" where everyone reads their stuff and I think of that and sorta cringe at that idea yikes! I've known too many peeps with fame and have a good sense of that and man, it's not always so easy. Anyhow, since I'm being all warm and fuzzy and opening up more and getting used to this whole spill your guts thing (even spilling one's imaginary guts can leave people thinking it was real so fuck it, it really doesn't matter what the hell you label it as, people will see what they see) , I'm thanking the people who visit here and read my stuff and share in my love for music etc. I started going on You Tube more because honestly that's where the bands are haha and you can subscribe if you'd like. It's pretty random on there but hell, isn't life random? See you around friends and keep it real :)
My little blog shrine to the one and only hard rhymer of the legendary group Public Enemy, Mr. Chuck D
Hopefully you enjoy reading it as much I like writing it. May it make your mind creak. Book Two of the novel is on it's way...
It may look easy but man is it daunting when you first are learning to take off (even slowly) on a motorcycle. Then it starts to grow on you and then you feel 1000 feet tall! My bro has been riding since high school and really knows his stuff and how to make you take the right baby steps and I'd HIGHLY recommend getting on a bike if you've never tried it. Don't dive all at once, just start as a passenger and go on the highways etc. with an experienced rider and it gets you totally comfortable. I happen to feel more cozy on a bike flying than in a car but that's just me haha. Last night I got the jacket on etc. and I wasn't just a passenger this time but started the bike myself a few times. I'm super stoked and will get two bikes once we have licenses and I've already put aside the moula for them (Trev wants a Ninja and I want a Yamaha R3 as a starter). I also happened to see a few females on bikes we passed on the roads which was super cool. Had to share just cuz!
Went to see Iron Maiden with the bro and I put together a little youtube playlist with lots of clips from last night's show at the Molson Amphitheatre. We had great seats and I was literally dead centre which was a treat! As always Maiden delivered 110% and Bruce told us that they played Toronto twice on this tour (The Book of Souls) which is amazing! I really liked Ghost too, they are dark yet melodic. Also a cool tidbit is that a kid beside us caught Nicko's drumstick and he's also a drummer so that made his year (I couldn't resist getting a photo as we've never had anything come so close to us from the stage so was pretty memorable). There were tons of young kids there who were fans which just blows my mind. Overall it was the best gift for my birthday I've had that's for sure. (added more footage 17 July 17)
